Installation information
---------------------------------------

You must be logged on as Administrator to install NWPopup on Windows NT, 2000 and XP. When distributing NWPopup to end-users, you are only permitted to redistribute NWPopup.lso which can be copied to the user's local hard drive or a network share. In addition to making the LSO file available, you need to register your development licence on the end-user's computer and must be logged on as Administrator to make the necessary registry entries. Please see "Redistribution" in the Help file for more information about the licence entries.

Windows 95, 98 and ME don't have a security enabled registry and the end-user can run your redistribution package (eg merge a .reg file) under their own account permissions.

---------------------------------------
Where to find NWPopup.lso
---------------------------------------

The setup program will install NWPopup.lso in C:\Lotus\Approach\. If Approach isn't installed in this path on your system, the setup program will create the folder anyway. If C:\Lotus\Approach\ only contains NWPopup.lso, you can move NWPopup.lso to any folder of your choice and delete C:\Lotus\Approach\.

If you move NWPopup.lso then you will get an error when you open either of the Approach files installed by setup. See Installing LSO Files in NWPopup Help for details of the procedure when you change the location of a LSO file.

---------------------------------------
NWPopup self-registration
---------------------------------------

Please note that NWPopup doesn't register itself until it is used for the first time. If you open the Licence utility before NWPop has self-registered, it will show EVAL or your CD Key in the Licence Number field and report the Installation Status as "Invalid licence number." You can still use the Licence Utility at this point to enter a CD Key but if you entered it during installation then NWPopup will register a full licence anyway, on first time use. For example, opening the sample Approach application and trying one of the menu icons will immediately register NWPopup.
